SKIING
ALTA LIFT ACCESS
The GMD is located only steps away from Alta’s Collins and Wildcat lifts. Check lift ticket prices and secure your passes here so that you can avoid the lines.
SKI SHOP
If you’re worried about securing ski rentals before your arrival, don’t stress it. We have a full rental ski shop located within our building, with a great selection of outerwear and retail items; all of which can be charged to your room.
SNOWBIRD
Looking to ski Snowbird while you’re here? Just a short shuttle down the road, or accessed through one of the Alta/Snowbird gates on the mountain. Learn more about our neighbor to the west.
BACKCOUNTRY ACCESS
Our Lodge sits across the street from world class backcountry endeavors. If this is your prime goal during your stay, we ask that you bring the correct equipment and knowledge necessary to tackle the avalanche prone terrain.
GET AROUND
GMD SHUTTLE
Part of your stay includes a shuttle service to take you to locations around the canyon. Check with the front desk to request a shuttle to your respective location.
AIRPORT SHUTTLE
Because of the limited parking here in Alta, as well as the often dangerous driving conditions along the canyon, we highly encourage our guests to ditch their cars and to use one of the many transportation companies who will get you to and from the airport in less than an hour. Also, consider the money you’ll save by not renting a car!
LODGE PARKING
For those who are committed to driving a car up, please be aware that there’s a $25 nightly charge per vehicle. Upon check-in, we will need as much information as you can provide us in exchange for a parking pass. All vehicles must be parked in the proper designated areas or else they will be towed.
BUS TO SNOWBIRD
Don’t forget to explore Alta’s sister resort, Snowbird, which is just down the road. UTA (Utah Transit Authority) has a bus running in either direction about every twenty minutes, roughly from 7am to 6pm, free with a ski pass. Check out their routes and schedules if you’d like to explore the Salt Lake City valley.
ACTIVITIES
LIVE MUSIC
Twice a week, starting at 6pm, we open our Saloon to the local community and host a variety of events: trivia night, open mic, live acoustic music, ski movie screenings, even a silent disco! Take a look at our upcoming events.
ALTA EVENTS
The Alta Ski Lift Company does a lot more than running chair lifts and selling ski passes. They also organize events like the New Year’s Torchlight Parade and guide groups around the mountain to learn more about our wildlife and winter ecology.
ACE EVENTS
The Alta Community Enrichment (ACE) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the arts, culture, and education within the Little Cottonwood Canyon community. Everyone, from guests, employees, homeowners, visitors, are welcome to participate or contribute.
